Shoes for the visually impaired

Very cool shoes for the visually impaired that connect with a smartphone and can guide a person to their destination through vibrations.

"Lechal" (Take me there in Hindi) is haptic footwear that can be paired with any smart phone via Bluetooth. The footwear includes electronic circuitry, sensors, and small actuators that are embedded inside the soles. Lechal overcomes the drawbacks of currently available assistive devices, especially with respect to Navigation, directions, obstacle detection, and orientation.
